Hello.

ArcGIS Pro 2.9.1

Data in enterprise geodatabase with attachments

I would like to make a map series(or report) that includes multiple images that are stored as database attachments. I am able to have the first attachment display by leaving the "filter" option blank. How do I get the second, third, and fourth images to display? I have created a second dynamic picture and populated the "filter" with "Photo 2". The name of second attachments is Photo 2.jpg

Nothing shows up in the second picture window. If I leave the filter blank it just shows the first image again.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Rick

Hi Rick,

My first guess is there may be an issue with the space between "Photo" and "2". It could be a bug. I'm not familiar with any database-specific query limitations. Can you contact Esri Support? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support.

As a work around try removing spaces from the field values you are querying against to see if that works.

Hope this helps,

Tom

@RickHendrickson1 Had the same "issue", currently on 3.1.2.  Was able to get this to work with Photo N.jpg without any quotes in the filter dialog. Just some trial and error. I've also submitted a doc feedback request for additional details in the Note about this: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/layouts/use-dynamic-text-with-map-series.htm#ESRI_SECT...

It appears to be a bug that requires there to be no spaces within the name of the attachment. I tried using a simple "Photo 1.jpg" without the quotes and the attachment would not be found and displays a blank photo insert. If I change the name of the attachment within the attachment table to "Photo_1.jpg" and then adjust the filter to match that name...it works perfectly everytime.

Hopefully this will give the develpoers a chance to fix the issue.

Hi @MichaelBruening

A bug was submitted for this issue - BUG-000142783 Attachment names with spaces are not displayed when selecting an image dynamically in ArcGIS Pro. This bug was addressed for Pro version 3.1.

If you are experiencing this issue with a post 3.1 version of Pro please contact support. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support. It is possible that in addressing the issue we did not address all variations and your specific case is not handles by the fix. We would need to know these specifics (for example data type used) to investigate further.

Thanks,

Tom

Hello Tom,

I just simply changed the name of my attachments to refelct no spaces or special characters and it cleared things up for myself. I was just posting for the OP to see that could be causing thier issues. Thanks for the clarification.
