files created after a project is open are not visible in catalog pane

Using Arc Pro 2.9.2

Anytime I open an Arc Pro project first, then create an excel file, or download other data and save it on my computer to use in Arc Pro, the catalog pane won't show the new files. Once I close the project and reopen it then I can see the files to add them to the project.

I was just curious if there was a refresh button, or some refresh settings I should be using to get the new data to sync in pro so they will be visible. I have been spending a lot of time closing and reopening projects.

In the catalog pane, you can right click and select Refresh for a folder or a geodatabase.
