Deleting a Field in ArcPro

I am trying to delete some fields for a feature class in ArcPro. The feature class is currently being hosted as a feature/map layer on my ArcGIS Server and Portal, and being used in some mapping application.

When I try to delete the fields, I get the following error:

ERROR 002557: Cannot delete field 

Failed to execute (DeleteField)

Is it because the feature class is being hosted on the Portal and server or is there something else that needs to be done? Does anyone know?

Just tried the Delete Field tool on some test data I have hosted on ArcGIS Online, worked for me...

If you're trying to delete multiple fields at a time, try just deleting one field at a time. Also, does the field have an index associated with it? If so, it cannot be deleted.
