When creating a traverse the default tool that is selected after setting my start location is the create features tool. Is there a way to change that so that after I set my start location Pro will set it to the select tool?

Same situation after I do something like divide a line, the default tool goes to the snap tool but I would much rather it get set to the select tool.

Thanks everyone

You can customize tool options, but I am not sure that you can will all tools and what follows

Hi Michael,

When you say "after I do something like divide a line, the default tool goes to the snap tool but I would much rather it get set to the select tool"...

Do you mean the Explore tool? When you use Divide, and then back out of the tool, it should set the Explore tool as the active tool. Is that not what happens for you?

Regarding the Traverse tool, I'm not sure if I follow. What purpose would it serve to have the Select tool active while you are creating features with the traverse tool?

Thanks for any clarification,

Scott

I can't reproduce the situation I mentioned regarding the divide tool, it seems to now operate exactly as I want it to. Must have been user error!

As for traverse, I don't necessarily want to use the select tool while creating a traverse, I just don't want my cursor to create lines by clicking once I set my start location. When I use the traverse tool I first click to select my starting location, as soon as I do that it sets my cursor to "create features" mode and if I click anywhere it will create a line beginning at my starting location and ending where I clicked. I would like it better if it didn't automatically want to just create lines and the select tool seemed like a harmless tool to default back to after setting the start location.
