Data driven pages not fitting landscape features

I'm trying to create a data driven page series for a golf course's holes, and for some reason all the features that are wider than high are having there eastern and western parts cut off. In the screen shot below the features used for the data driven pages are the turquoise polygons.

It should be covering roughly this area

These are the settings I'm using, and that work when I try in ArcMap.

Anyone got an idea what is going on with it?

I think the problem is "round scale to nearest 1000", change it to 100 or 10?
