I have successfully created a Table Frame (the one with the blue colors) which only displays data from visible features in my map frame. I have the desired fields showing - which one of them is an area (square foot). I am trying to understand if there is a way to have this table frame provide a row at the bottom which is a sum of those features for which it displays an area...so I would get a total area.  Does that make sense? I tried running a "Summarize" tool for that "LandscapedArea" field, but I do not understand how to 'tie it into' my Table Frame:

I'm hoping there is a setting or check box I am overlooking to get this done and have everything update automatically as new elements are added/modified to the map frame.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yes, you can do this using Dynamic Text on your layout view.  In the Table Statistics group, there is one for SUM.  On the Insert tab, in the Graphics and Text Group, click the dropdown for Dynamic Text.  Scroll down to the Table Statistics group and click on Sum.  Create a box below your Area field and you'll see the sum of the Area values there.  It's dynamic so if the rows in the table update, so does the SUM values.  In the Elements pane properties you cand set all kind of options there plus modify the tag values too.
