Can't add points to layer via attribute table?

Hi,

First off, first question on these forums so apologies if I've made some mistake.

Using ArcGIS Pro 2.3.0. I want to add a couple points to an existing layer by entering data and coordinates into the attribute table. I'm sure I've done this before, but now any points added don't show up on the map. I've saved edits, refreshed drawing, closed and opened the project again and the points are listed in the table but just don't display.

Thanks for any help!

you can't add coordinates to a table and have them show up on a map unless you use one of several options

XY Table To Point (Data Management)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

Make XY Event Layer (Data Management)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

nothing gets automatically updated so it is best to complete additions and go through the process once, or remember to repeat

Okay thanks - so the layer has to be remade every time I want to add data basically?

Well if you are only doing a few at a time and you have the coordinates, why not edit the point featureclass directly and add the coordinates there.

Create point and multipoint features—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

use step 8  Absolute X,Y,Z Absolute XYZ,  to position the point
