How do I load a realistic tree preset in ArcGIS pro

@JeremyWright I have a few follow up questions:

  1. In the link provided, it requires width, is that the same as radius, also does it require the height and radius to be in specific units?
  2. How do you define radius/width? Because width or radius (or whatever one may call it) of a tree it is not perfectly circular?
  3. height = ZTOP/ZMAX right?

the help specs it as "Crown Width" so no it is not radius

height is above ground level

 

as you can see from the latest doc we have deprecated these layers in 3.0 and later releases.

switching to a standard feature layer will give you more control over the tree representations and parameters as well as their attribute-driven properties, and you can still use the nice tree models included with ArcGIS Pro styles.

  • When you say height above ground, does that mean height of each tree (point geometry)?
  • Also how can I convert a shapefile/feature class to a standard layer?
