I set the size of the title font size to 20 pts. in all of my layouts (there are 4 different layouts). I'm creating each of the layouts from the same map content. However, when those 4 layouts are exported to PDF (all 8.5 x 11-page sheets), the size of the word "Legend" is not the same in each PDF. I don't understand why. I need to create consistent-looking exhibits each time. What am I missing?

Ah, ok I understand, you are using a legend. I didn't realize that, I thought you were talking about a regular title text eleemnt.

This isn't a bug, text in a legend can shrink to make sure all the text fits. You can control how or when that text shrinks by adjust the fitting strategy of the legend. Learn more about fitting strategies here: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/layouts/layout-fitting-strategies.htm. Changing the fitting strategy may help here, although which one you want to use will depend on the specifics of your legend.

Do you have Embed Fonts checked when you do your PDF export? If this option isn't checked some fonts won't appear the same in the PDF as they do in the layout because of complexities with font installations and the PDF format. By embedding the fonts you can get a more consistent look.

Aubri, Yes, "Embed Font" is checked in the export panel for all four layouts. For one of 4 layouts, I needed to increase the title font size to 28 points to make it look similar in size to the other with a title font size set to 20 points.

That's really interesting and frustrating. I'm assuming they are all using the same font, is that correct? There can be differences in sizing with different fonts because of size variations for letters and symbols unique to each font. Also, are you using text on the layout or labels in the map or map graphics for your titles? Labels respond to changes in scale so that could be a factor.

All the same font type. I don't understand your second question. I have an inserted legend. I size the title (the word "Legend") as shown below

So this seems to have worked. I used a "adjust frame" fitting strategy. I think it would be nice to see a message something like "Current fitting strategy will alter font sizes selected"

Thank you for your assistance!
