As of ArcGIS Pro 3.4+, the Split tool has experienced an odd regression that prevents you from splitting line features on a vertex if the map projection differs from the feature Spatial Reference.
Splitting on edges still works fine, but if you want to split on a vertex it fails with a "Splitting Line Features failed." generic error. I'm not sure what exactly changed on the backend to cause this, but it's persisted through 2 minor versions and several patches now.
Have the same problem. Thinking it was me. Split work fine in polygon but failed in line.
@DanPatterson
LOL. In an ideal world we'll have performant error messages that link back to the master mind and read something like:
"Error 9e10, I'm sorry Hayden, I cannot do that.... But it has been reported as Bug-000172550 and will be fixed in version 5.6 patch2."
How should I phrase that as an Idea? Mmmmm.
Perfectly agreed to that.
Hi @HaydenWelch! Idea Exchanges are not the right place to log software bugs or crashes so I will be closing this. Bugs and crashes should be logged with Technical Support. From the comments, it looks like this issue has already been reported and is being tracked as BUG-000172550. Thank you.
@ValeriaChavez My mistake, still learning how to properly navigate the Bug Report system. I have been following the patch reports, didn't see the bug status area. I'll keep stuff like this there in the future. Glad to know it's being fixed and that I wasn't the only one with the issue!
