While editing in Pro I noticed that unlike in Arcmap I couldn't see my edits until I actually saved them with the save edits button. For instance when drawing, reshaping or cutting a polygon but also when moving or placing a new point you can't see if your edit is correct until after you save it (and often also zoom in or out). This kind of defeats the point of an edit session.

We're currently at Pro 3.3 and I'm not entirely sure if it's related to this post:  https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/revert-to-showing-edits-of-projected-features-in/idc-... but the finish button makes no difference in this either.

@HbAGeoinfo That is unexpected behavior. You should be able to see the features you are editing without having to save edits. Are you able to contact Esri Technical Support to see if there is something specific about your data or install of Pro that might be causing it?

Things I would try in this order:

  1. Clear the local cache (options > Display > Local Cache > clear cache now button)
  2. Try it in a new project.
  3. Try it with different data.
  4. Try it with data in a different type of workspace (ex. if you are working with Shapefiles, switch to File Geodatabase feature classes).
  5. Reinstall ArcGIS Pro
  6. Soft reset of ArcGIS Pro and try again.
  7. Clean uninstall of ArcGIS Pro and then reinstall and try again.

For the last few steps, I would recommend working with Esri Technical Support if you can.
