Please add a search bar to make finding data quicker in a geodatabase/SDE. The search bar would ideally show up when you expand a gdb. A search bar such as this one can really help when a gdb has loads of data.

Agreed

I try to search through SDEs all the time but I know it's futile, the search always returns nothing.

This has been a challenge for so very long and is way past time be addressed. Even a filter would be helpful.

Hello @Ed_ ,

Thank you for your feedback.  If you have indexing turned on for enterprise geodatabases in the Options dialog, Indexing page (note that by default, this is turned off),

then when the indexing is done, you should be able to find items by keyword (or other criteria) in an enterprise geodatabase.  In the follow example, I selected the already indexed CityData.sde in the Catalog view Contents pane (and all its content showed in the contents list), then I searched (in the Search box) with "park".  The relevant item in CityData.sde was found and displayed in the contents list.

Does this address your need?

@NaicongLi thank you for the response, but it does not address the need. The request is to have the search bar in any geodatabase local or on network or an SDE. The search bar should be available in the Catalog Pane/
