we are facing pain when we are trying to update web map content through the ArcGIS pro but we are getting the following warning "A web layer named “xxxx_MIL1” already exists. Please choose a different name that is unique within your organization".
we cannot find where and how to change the name of the map service and we are not able to replace it. Thus, we are forced to delete the MIL from the ArcGIS server to be able to save the updated web map.
the above solution leads to the change in the map item id for the service layer.
kindly anyone have a clarification? Thank you.
Hi @ElieRizk2,
This error appears because your map contains new data layers that will be published using a name that already exists in your organization. You can change the name of your new web layer instead of the existing one in your portal. To do this, click Configuration on the Save Web Map pane. Right-click the web layer and click Configure Web Layer Properties. You can change the name of the web layer that is shared when you save the web map.
Does this help?
Best,
Jonah
