Rename with '-' when renaming in catalog pane/view

Cannot rename a model to include a '-' when renaming in Catalog View/Pane. It works when renaming in model properties.

Please can you detail exactly how you "rename a model ... in Catalog View/Pane", eg perhaps by double clicking or selecting from a menu etc, and the version of ArcGIS Pro that you are using.

OK thanks for clarifying, but I can rename the model there to include a hypen/dash/minus "-".

Note, there is plenty of scope for confusion about what that character actually is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyphen.

Are you simply typing the hypen/dash/minus in, or are you copying it from somewhere ?

@ChrisUnderwood  Hm, I'm getting mixed results today. I'm using just the '-' character on the keyboard next to the 0. Last week, it seemed to be the issue; now, it seems like a variety of special characters throw it off only sometimes, namely, when a modelbuilder window is open (not the model being renamed)? I'm not sure now.

Hi rburke, 

• I tested with 3.1 and I am able to rename with hyphen when the model is closed.
• When a model is open the slow edit rename is blocked. 
  
  

Please can you create a video for us to see this potential bug?
