Allow a user to publish only the layer(s) that is selected so that no extra layers are included that you don't want and so that you don't have to create a new, separate project file to just publish a layer.

@LisaDygert1 You can select one or more layers in the Contents pane, right-click any selected layer, point to Sharing, and click Share As Web Layer to publish selected layers. Does this work for you?

LisaDygert1

Yes, thank you very much.  I didn't realize the Sharing option was available there.

You're welcome! I'll go ahead and close this then.

Just so it's a little more clear, This feature is available in the newest update 3.4.0 version. I was previously running 3.3.1 and the only option was to "Save as a web layer" which didn't seem to work like OP intended. Update If You Can! Thanks ESRI!

@DAndersonMaps  The Share As Web Layer option on a selected layer is not new and has been available since very early versions of ArcGIS Pro.  You'll see it off the context menu of layer types that can be published. You'll see the Save Web Layer option if your selected layer is a web feature layer sublayer.
