Pro: Symbolise line using gradient along length

It would be great if a colour gradient could be rotated along a line symbol's length.  There are a few 'nearly there' workarounds, but currenty Pro can only apply a gradient through the thickness of the line - not from end to end.

 

Eg I can use a gradient stroke through the line like below, but not from end to end like this ↓

For anyone interested, I was able to get a gradient line loosely following the video in @elmort's post. Add a fill layer, remove the enclosing polygon effect, and replace with the tapered polygon effect. Works perfectly for me and follows the direction of the line. My lines are not curved and only have two vertices not sure how it would look for lines with multiple vertices.

Fill layers automatically have the enclosed polygon effect. This took was to long to figure out. Shout out to @elmort
