What is needed is the ability to tell the Map Series engine to not show certain layout items on certain pages. Just a little tab somewhere that says don't show on pages x, y, x. Needs to be on elements, graphics, data frames, every possible layout element. 3rd party add-ons for ArcMAP used to provide this functionality. Its a dead simple idea that would get of countless accursed sloppy bad practice clutter generating work-arounds and make the Map Series vastly more flexible and hence useful.
