Make Route Event Layer — Don't symbolize based on subtype

When I create a Route Event Layer, the tool automatically uses the subtype from the non-spatial linear referencing event table to create Unique Values symbology in the output event layer:

That's not what I want. Each time I create a route event layer I have to remove the unique value symbology by switching it to single symbol symbology. It's a nuisance to do that every time I create a route event layer.

Could a checkbox option be added to the Make Route Event Layer geoprocessing tool to disable that subtype/unique values functionality?
