Custom graphic design in Layout is much appreciated. However, there is a substantial amount of time needed to Name/Title Text Elements. Is there a way to title the text element with the content of the text, instead of having to manually enter both title and content fields? It seems the time to manage these elements can be reduced. Converting many Text Layers to Annotation, in a batch, to a FGDB is a good GP too may be handy aswell!
I love the idea of being able to batch rename the text layout elements based on the contents of the text box, although there might need to be some kind of character limit. 90% of the time this would work perfectly on my maps and save me a lot of time and irritation renaming elements (and broadly it would encourage users to give layout elements meaningful names) but 10% of the time we have some sort of lengthy/complex text box whose contents wouldn't make a useful layout element name. Maybe it could just be a right-click function from the element name that you do one layer at a time, right click > Apply Name from Contents? Then you could quickly apply the name where it works and manually modify element names where it doesn't work.
Have you tried Convert Labels to Annotation (geoprocessing tool) or Tiled Labels to Annotation (geoprocessing tool) for the second issue?
