We are finding that our ArcGIS PRO users are not able to solely rely on the Add BIM connection to work out which BIM/Revit files they need to work with in ArcGIS PRO. Our users tell us that they have to open up BIM360 in a browser to see 'all' the attributes associated with BIM files in order to work out which BIM files they need to work with in ArcGIS PRO. PRO users would like to not have to open up BIM360 in a browser on another screen in order to see attributes like Version, Description and Review Status. These attributes are very important in order for us to ensure that the GIS meets ISO19650 requirements. Today, when you right click on an IFC in PRO, not all the attributes are visible to the PRO user. Furthermore, in PRO 2x when you pause your cursor over a BIM file in the Catlog window you only see the Type, Modified date and path appear in the pop up. These attributes are not necessarily the ones that a GIS analyst is looking for in the pop up when they are trying to make a decision about which BIM files to add to their current scene.
The idea we are proposing is that Esri allows the PRO user to see 'more' attributes inside the Catalog Window associated with the BIM files stored in BIM360. This will ensure that the PRO user can be more confident he or she is working with the right version of a BIM file when they publish to a building scene layer and share it across their enterprise.
