Include Metadata in the Identify and HTML pop-up tools

You cannot by default, easily view the metadata of content through ArcMap or a Web viewer. Having the metadata available through the identify/html pop-up functions would be pretty handy in some cases (in lieu of simultaneously running ArcCatalog).

ArcGIS Desktop retired March 1, 2026 so we won’t be considering this idea. We recommend that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro, our fully supported desktop GIS application.
