Right now the areas that show the name of your definition queries are set to an arbitrary width. It's fairly narrow and doesn't resize with the window or contents. Sometimes I set up several definition queries that are very similar and have very similar names, so being able actually see those names would be helpful both here:
and in the ribbon selector (which does include a '...' to indicate truncation, unlike the properties box)
In the case of the ribbon selector, it would probably be sufficient to just make the dropdown menu options wider rather than the whole thing.
The current workaround is to open the definition query tab of the layer's properties and hover or click into the name fields. You could use shorter names, too, but often times this is not possible nor desirable. I like to err on the side of descriptive names so I know what each one does.
