When creating event layers using geoprocessing tools, such as Make Route Event Layer:
Idea: Add a new parameter or environment setting to define a definition query in the output event layer, all from within the GP tool.
For example, I'm creating a Route Event Layer from a standalone linear referencing table with rows I don't want to include in the output event layer. Instead of hoping the user will remember to create a definition query after running the tool, it would be better to set it up in the GP tool parameters.
