Please add the dynamic geocoding function to ArcGIS Pro. This was available in ArcMap at one time and was a great help in allowing management to see locations of incidents in real time.

  • Dynamically geocode a (SQL) table with addresses (or coordinates)
  • Using a organizational geocoding service or geolocator
  • Be able to use the resulting feature class in a dashboard in Enterprise Portal (or AGOL)

This was so possible with ArcMap's dynamic geocoding and allowed for situational awareness of a very real kind.

No, not looking for a work around through scripting.

Thanks

I am unsure what you are asking for here because Pro absolutely has geocoding capabilities to do exactly what you are asking for. Either by running a geocoding geoprocessing task against a table of values (this will cost organization service credits unless you are using a local geolocator), or using the 'locate' function (available on the Map toolbar under the inquiry group) that lets you enter a single location and choose the locator of your choice.

Dynamic geocoding allows a feature to be geolocated as soon as a record is added to the related table. Hands off, no geoprocessing once set up.

  • There is a (SQL) table
  • This can (could be in ArcMap) be geolocated with a checkbox for "dynamic"
  • When a record was added to this (SQL) table, the feature would automatically appear on the map

I hope this makes it clearer...there is no check box for dynamic in the geocoding function in ArcGIS Pro.

Thanks
