Our organization makes heavy use of the divide tool when working with PLSS data to do subdivision. Most of the plats we work with are in chains so we usually have our default units set to chains. However sometimes we work with private survey plats that in other units (typically US survey feet but also others). We use the divide to tool break our parcel lines proportionally by distance and the divide tool only works with the default project distance unit. It would be really nice if it allowed you to used unit overrides like the traverse tool. By not having to be changing our default unit constantly, this would be a real time and hassle saver for us.

Hey Lucas,

Good suggestion.  I noticed the Divide tool if done on Polygons has this dropdown seen in the picture below.  If this would be done for the Lines distance units, would that solve your issue?

Yeah that would work as long as it picks up all of the units set in the project options as chains aren't there by default.

Yea, those will pick them up if added to the project.  I added it and it's there now
