It would help to have a tool that identifies orphaned domains and lets us delete those domains. For example, a geoprocessing tool that populates a checkbox list in a parameter with a list of unused domains. The user would have the option to select all, or select specific domains, and then delete those domains.
I'm aware that can be done with a custom Python script. However, it would be better to have an OOTB tool built into Pro to let non-coders easily manage their domains.
I know this is not exactly what you are asking for, but have you tried using the "Domain Usage" tool?
It's available under the context tab "Domains" when the domain view is opened on any Geodatabase. It will not allow you to delete a domain, but it will show you which datasets/fields the domain is attached to, so if you select a domain that is unattached, you know it can be deleted.
This is a great tool, but it would be even bettter if ESRI built it out a bit more to allow some domain management functionality like you suggested.
Hello, Bud.
You can do it with XTools Pro Domain Manager tool.
Using the Generate Schema Report tool identifies how each domain is used so you don't need to check them individually with the Domain Usage menu.
