Often times when doing comparison a user will have multiple maps and tables open. Or they get interrupted in their work and start on a new workflow. It can be confusing as to which table goes to which map. Color code them, so Map1 is maybe blue in its tab and any table you open from Map1 is also blue. Map2 could be yellow, and its table tabs yellow, etc.
I could see a real use for some of my users. I have a few that frequently forget what map goes to which table.
This is a great idea!
I support this, but maybe make color coding something users can turn on and off themselves, and allow them to choose the colors (or modify ESRI's default choice) - like in Excel, you can define tab color if that is helpful and pleasing to you.
I just created an add-in that might help with this, it allows you to tint the View tabs.
