Clicking the Catalog Tab should Collapsed the window

Clicking the Catalog Tab in ArcMap expand the window but it does not collapsed the window. Why not make it click to collapsed the window as well? 0EM30000000CiMN

This has already been logged as an enhancement request at pre-release.

It is a good point. Why does clicking the tab not collapse the window back. That would seem more intuitive than how it works now. That is also how pulldown menus work (click on the menu name to pull it down, click again to collapse it back up.

ArcGIS Desktop is in mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026 so we won’t be considering this idea. We recommend that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro, our fully supported desktop GIS application.
