Problem: When editing as-built data in the Utility Network, sometimes entire parts of the network are demolished or abandoned. These parts are selected, and the attribute STATUS_AS_BUILT is then set to "demolished" or "abandoned". Currently, this has to be done in the attribute pane for each Asset Type (or feature class) individually, or you have to create an add-in or use a GP tool for it.

Proposal: It would be beneficial to have a standard functionality that allows users to update a common attribute for all selected assets simultaneously.

Benefits:

  1. Efficiency: This feature would save time and reduce manual effort by enabling users to update a common attribute for multiple selected assets at once.
  2. User Experience: It would simplify the workflow and reduce the chances of errors when updating attributes.

I was actually thinking about a "batch mode" in the attribute pane this week.

My workflow was attributing streamlines. It would have been great to just hit batch mode so all of the features I had (manually!) selected got the update at once.
