I am trying to project a feature class in ArcMap using a project tool and I have hundreds of attachments files included in this feature class, When I project the data the new feature class does not include the attachments files, In workspace > environment > geodatabase I checked box to 'maintain attachments’, Is there a way to transfer or retain the old attachment data from the old feature class into the new feature class? Thanks- I am using ArcMap 10.8

ArcMap does not support attachments with the Project tool. You can see the tools that maintain attachments here:

https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/tools/environments/maintain-attachments.htm

ArcGIS Pro does support maintaining attachments with the Project tool:

https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/environment-settings/maintain-attachments.ht...

You can do this workaround in ArcMap:

https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000011569

I'd recommend just making the move to ArcGIS Pro

As mentioned, this has been implemented in ArcGIS Pro.

ArcGIS Desktop is in mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026 so we won’t be considering this idea for ArcMap. We recommend that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro, our fully supported desktop GIS application. See Migrate from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro for more information. Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas.  We truly appreciate your contributions to continuously improving the software to help you do your work and look forward to what ideas you have for ArcGIS Pro.
