Alphabet and Numeric Unique Renderer

I would like to see a renderer created for alphabet, numbers, or both.  Each unique value in the feature class field would be assigned a value accordingly.  This can be done manually, but is very tedious and is not easily repeatable. It would be similar to key numbering labels, but behave like key symbols.  I could see there being options for case and pattern, ideally be customizable with Arcade/expressions.

I don't want to do this with labeling either, which can achieve a similar effect, but is not the same behavior that I'm looking for.

My example attached isn't perfect, but I think it get's the point across.  I would have been okay using A-Z or 1-36.
