For almost all of my text fields I would like to use a space (" ") character as a default value, but it cannot be done. Also there is no way to add a field to existing data and make it Required without problems being generated from the Null values that initialize the field. So please combine this suggestion with the ability to add retroactively Required fields that are prepopulated with a default value, and include the ability to specify a space (" ") character as a default value.
