ArcGIS Pro 3.5.3
Using COGO Reader on the attached legal description, the reader put the first 4 calls following the Point of Beginning in the Connection lines group. The reader recognized the "Point of Beginning" statement. After removing all the sketches, the header and the page breaks the refresh of the call extraction still put the 4 calls in the Connection lines. I made corrections through the document and identified the call that caused the issue. I actually went back and did all the correction except for the line identified on "COGO Reader 2026-02-27 120825(call that corrects issue)" and the issue remained. I don't see the difference between this line and the rest of the calls.
I would also suggest adding a Label for COGO Reader
Thanks, @RickBurris . I received the legal descriptions, and I’ll review them and get back to you soon. Appreciate you sending the docs.
After a very detailed review of the legal description, it appears that the main issue is with OCR recognition rather than COGO Reader itself. In several places, the OCR is interpreting the number zero (0) as the letter O. Because of that, values are being read incorrectly. This is an OCR issue, not a COGO Reader issue.
I also found that the page breaks are causing COGO Reader to misread some of the courses.
In addition, on call 136, COGO Reader is not picking up the delta angle because the description shortens “delta angle” to just “delta.” If you add the word angle, it will fix.
What we learned from this review is that COGO Reader can run into problems when OCR converts 0 to O in expressions such as “No° 12'” or similar text. Abbreviations can also create issues, especially for terms like delta angle, central angle, and related wording. We will look into this!!!
If those three items are corrected, the deed should close within 0.05'.
You can also see the Label for the COGO Reader on screenshot below 🙂
@RickBurris the issue where CR didn't consistently recognize abbreviated angle terms such as: delta and angle is now fixed on the the next release (3.7).
