Our state uses State Plane meters projection so all our data is in meters. All the surveys we work with are in feet (or occasionally rods/chains/links). When I use the Traverse Tool (dialog), I have to enter each distance in feet like this: "107.93 ft". I have trained myself to do this without thinking. But, Traverse converts and stores it in meters. So it's difficult to check my work if my survey doesn't close - I can't compare the distances on the survey to the distances in the Traverse tool, as they are in different units.

It would be nice for the Traverse tool to either use the Data Frame's Display Units by default, or to have a way to change the distance units used by the Traverse tool, either on the Traverse dialog itself or on the Editing Options dialog's Units tab. Alternately, the Traverse tool could just store the distances as you typed them in, i.e. "107.93 ft" instead of converting it to "32.897".

Hello David,

In ArcGIS Pro 1.3 you can enter a traverse in feet and it will store the distance units using your state plane units (meters). All you have to do is define the default distance units for your project.

Regardless you will be able to override those units to any units that the project allows.
