I am studying user types and roles, and came across this. User role can use spatial analysis in ArcGIS Online, but cannot 'perform analysis.'
What is the difference between these 2 privileges?
Thank you,

The Perform Analysis tools
The administrator of the organization must grant the user the following privileges:
Members of the Publisher or Administrator organization roles have these privileges by default. Certain tools need additional privileges, such as Network Analysis and GeoEnrichment privileges.
User role cannot publish hosted features; thus USER cannot perform Analytics tool in map.
Once the Analysis result is shared in the web app, USER can run the analysis tool with the result layer.

Thank you,
So, a user role in a web app can rerun the published analysis result in a web app, but can't do an analysis in a web map because that involves publishing?
Another role like Publisher or the role has permission to use Perform Analysis and publish result as result layer in the web map/app. Share the created web map/app to the User role. The User role then use the result layer's run analysis (See the the pdf page 15 ~ ) It's more like pre-configured tool.
It may have other ways to use Spatial Analysis as a User role that I might not knowing. Hope this help.
