Considerations when restoring from the recycle bin
Keep the following in mind when restoring from the recycle bin:
- Sharing settings are not preserved for items in the recycle bin. For others to access the item after you restore it, you must share it again.
- Restored items are not replaced in organization members' lists of favorite items.
- Categories are not preserved for items in the recycle bin. If the item had categories applied, you must reassign them after you restore the item.
- Scheduled tasks are not preserved on notebook and data pipeline items in the recycle bin. You must reschedule the task after you restore the item.
- Predefined offline map areas are not preserved for web maps in the recycle bin. If you defined an offline map area for the web map, you must re-create it after you restore the web map.
- Similar to how you cannot delete a source hosted feature layer before you delete dependent layers, you cannot restore dependent layers without restoring the source layer.
- While an item remains in the recycle bin, it continues to use storage space and credits in the organization.
