Good morning,
I am trying to overwrite a hosted feature layer that I created in AGOL. I have disabled sync, disabled track editing and the only thing I can think of is the source layer. However, when creating a feature layer in AGOL a source layer isnt created along with it. I tested this out by creating a new "test" feature layer in AGOL and I am also not able to overwrite it. So what else can it be? I am able to overwrite hosted feature layers that I imported as shapefiles and containt those shapefiles as the source, but not with feature layers created from scratch in AGOL that have no source. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Hi @fjramos
That is correct that you won't be able to overwrite your layer if you created it from scratch within ArcGIS Online. If you take a look through a following documentation, it explains what file types allow layers to be overwritten and why you wouldn't be able to overwrite a layer: Manage hosted feature layers—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation
I'd recommend republishing your data using the shapefile, if you are wanting to often overwrite your data. Let me know if you have any questions about this.
Thanks!

If anyone reads this, I do have an idea, but don't want to do it on my main feature layers yet. What if I "Update" data on the hosted feature layer with an exact copy of shapfiles exported from this feature layer. Will this create a new shapefile source?
