I would like to display tourist routes with their specific symbols. In the desktop area (arcgis pro) I solved this with a background label based on TTF or graphic symbols. This still works when publishing in arcgis server. But in arcgis online the previous publishing fails??

You can publish this as a web style or through your map/layer with the option "use compatible symbols for all apps" unchecked when in ArcGIS Pro sharing panel. The ArcGIS Server label case works if you are using map image layers which are included in the export image the service sends to the client. Feature layers do render the same way and wont achieve the same labeling support.

Hi Russ, thanks for the reply. I only had time to test your solution today. I had no problems publishing as a web style. My own style also shows up. However, the MapViewer freezes when I open it. I tested 2 versions of the style: Markerline

and labeling a line with a dot symbol, which was previously used in the desktop area (see road labeling)

What am I doing wrong?
Greetings Stefan

Can you share the desktop style file for this one and I can take a look.

Thanks! One other question - What kind of placement do you want for these markers? At the end of the lines or positioned/repeating along the line ?
