Sharing a Web Map link that DOES NOT open in a mobile device (iPhone)

I have created a map in which I have presented to some folks here. Attached with the smaller paper map is a QR barcode containing the shared map link. Yesterday I was able to get this to work with no issue, however today, it will not work on a mobile device. It will open on an iPad though.

I have attempted to just copy and paste the actual link, not using the barcode in the safari browser, and the map will still not work.

Is this some sort of a glitch going on?

Hey, this is interesting!!!! It is so awesome to encode the link into a QR Code! Good idea! I also want to do this for my web. What kind barcode generator did you use? I googled and found so many QR Code generators. But I do not know how to choose. Can you give me some suggestions? Thanks. By the way, must I use QR Code? Can I use Data Matrix, Code 39, etc to encode the link?

Your link calls the map to open in a browser. I would rather have the map open in the ArcGIS app. The formatting of the link below achieves this. Maybe this solves the issue with the browser opening the map - rather, let the ArcGIS app handle the request?

The problem is due to the Bing Maps basemap. Since your map is an older map, it's using the complimentary Bing Maps Basemap. This is not working in the mobile viewer.

You could change your basemap, but then you would permanently lose the Bing Maps basemap and not be able to use it again, without obtaining your own Bing Maps Key from Microsoft.

Complimentary use of Bing Maps basemaps will be completely phased out by the end of the year. Click here for more details.
