Hello experts,

ArcGIS newbie here. I've been asked to modify this map:

https://imw.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=fa8df03197314f4c9dcce55d8546b267

which is displayed on this page:

https://www.keepersofthewater.ca/kow-mapped-water-data

The map displays a set of water monitoring data collection sites. The chief problem I've been asked to solve is that at default zoom, the sites overlap, which makes it impossible to click on the individual pins.

I'll work on a copy of the original ArcGIS map, which I've already made. I think the solutions are to:

  1. Set the map extent to show the entire Athabasca River watershed—roughly 60° N on the north, 53° on the south, 110° W on the east, and 120° W on the west.
  2. Set the default zoom and restyle the pins if necessary so that at default zoom, all pins are clickable.

Do these solutions sound correct?

Should I do the work in Map Viewer?

How do I style the pins? I can't find the controls for pin size, color, etc.

Thanks in advance for your help!

AK
