Problem with registering for an account

I tried to register a new account to access ArcGIS Online which came up as being sucessful.  However I got a message to say that I couldn't log in.  I have tried a few times since that message to log in and haven't been successful.  Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

I can see that you're registered with ArcGIS.com with a user name that appears to be derived from your company name, not the user name you're posting here with. I assume you're using the right user name when trying to sign in. Your username is also all capital letters.

User names and passwords are case sensitive, so make sure you're typing in the right case. You can reset your password at:

http://webaccounts.esri.com
