pop ups from hosted services

I noticed that, when I upload a (public) service to AGOL, use it in a map, then publish that map, the pop-ups aren't working.
On the other hand, when I add the same service directly from my server to a map, then publish that map, the pop-ups are working fine.
Is that a bug, or just another "feature" that's only available with the subscription? Or am i missing an option too turn on the pop-ups on hosted features?

Thanks for enlightening me! 😉

Are you publishing a hosted service in ArcGIS Online? Is it a tiled map service? Hosted tiled map services don't support queries (such as popups), as the service just consists of tiled images. ArcGIS Server map services do support queries. If you publish a hosted tiled map service and feature service, you can use the feature service to support queries.

Post the URL to your services and we can look more closely.

Thanks,

Mike

I think i figured out why the pop-ups are not working on my published map.
I added a service (let's say Park Benches) to my content, added it to my map, configured the pop-up, saved the map, and published the map with the simple viewer app. Everything works fine.
Here's the twist:
I added a service (let's say Park Benches) to my content, added it to my map, configured the pop-up, clicked on Save Item Properties, saved the map, and published the map with the simple viewer app. Pop-ups aren't working anymore.
As soon as i go back to my map and change the pop-up configuration for the layer, save the map, and reload the application, the pop-ups are working fine again.
Did i stumble upon a bug here?

Thanks!
