Hello,

I have 250 credits in my arcgisonline trial account. I am trying to test if Collector for ARCGIS is the right fit for our organization. And I tried to transfer a blank feature class from a file geodatabase to arcgisonline and I got a message that it can't be done because I need 512% more credits. The said feature class has a lot of fields and domains for dropdowns within collector but I am still wondering why it requires more than 250 credits to transfer a blank feature class.

Please help!

Cheers!

Gabriel,

Something sounds wrong.  Even layers with lots of features in them shouldn't use up many credits.  Can you explain the steps you took to transfer this blank feature class from a geodatabase to ArcGIS Online?

Let me know so I can try to help more.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt,

1. I created a blank File geodatabase in ARCGIS ArcCatalog (10.2 Standard license).
2. Created a (point) feature class in ArcCatalog.
3. Added the feature class to a blank .MXD
4. Added the fields in ARCMAP to the feature class
5. Published a service (Share as Service)
6. Got the "not enough credits message"

As a side note we had a 30 day trial for arcgisonline.com

Thanks,

Gabriel

Gabriel,

When you publish, make sure Tiled Mapping, under Capabilities, is not checked.  If you publish the service with only Feature Access checked on, you will probably have plenty of credits to publish the service.

Matt is right, uncheck tiled mapping.
