Hello friends.
I have added my own layers of data from file in QND95 coordinate system over the Bing Maps Roads basemap in ArcGIS.com web map. My data doesn't seem to align properly with the data in basemap. Can you please let me know how can I fix this. Thank you.

I tried projecting the data to wgs 84 web mercator aux sphere using project tool as suggested by mike in the other thread and uploaded the same to arcgis map but still i see the displacement of my points. It will also be helpful if i can get a clue how to get files with more than thousand features uploaded so that i can prepare my own base map with streets.

I believe you need to apply a transformation to your data in ArcMap. Display the Data Frame properties, Coordinate System tab. Set a transformation. ArcMap does appear to have the necessary transformation, see attached image. Once you have your data displaying correctly in ArcMap in wgs84, then you could export a shapefile that will display in ArcGIS Online.

As far as your other question, if you want to display more than 1000 features, then you'll need to purchase a subscription to ArcGIS Online when it becomes available later this year. With a subscription, you can create services hosted by ArcGIS Online.

Hope this helps,

Thanks,

Mike

Thank you mike. Sorry but my data still doesn't display properly in ArcMap 10. There is still a small displacement enough for a point to cross over the road

Yes, a lot of times, even with a transformation, there are offsets. Typically, if you research the transformation, it will describe the level of accuracy. Offsets occur because the mathematical transformation is not exact.

Thanks,
