After a recent ArcGIS Online update (noticed the week of July 13-17, 2026), the Selected Records table no longer updates as additional features are selected using the Explore tool.
Previous behavior:
- Open the attribute table.
- Filter the table to Selected Records.
- Click a parcel with the Explore tool.
- The parcel is added to the Selected Records table.
- Continue clicking additional parcels.
- The table updates automatically to include each newly selected parcel.
This workflow allowed us to review ownership information while clicking through parcels on the map.
Current behavior:
- Clicking a parcel highlights it (blue outline) and opens the pop-up.
- The attribute table remains on the original selected record(s) and does not update as additional parcels are clicked.
- The only way to view the newly clicked parcel in the table is to use the Table button from the pop-up, which changes the table to that single feature instead of maintaining the current selected records.
Expected behavior:
The Selected Records table should stay synchronized with the current map selection while using the Explore tool, as it did previously.
Environment:
- ArcGIS Online
- New Map Viewer
- Browser: Microsoft Edge (also willing to test Chrome if needed)
- Issue began after a recent ArcGIS Online update. The workflow functioned normally prior to that.
Business impact:
This significantly slows parcel review workflows. We routinely compare parcel ownership, verify landowner information, assign structure numbers, and QA/QC ownership data. Previously, we could keep the Selected Records table open and simply click through parcels. The new behavior requires repeatedly reopening or changing the table context, adding many extra clicks to an otherwise efficient workflow.
