How do I edit a service in AGO?

AGO has changed a little since I last worked on something like this. My use case is that I'd like users to be able to edit data in AGO that I have hosted in SDE. I have an AGS service running. The AGS SDE user can edit the layer from Desktop. But when I'm in AGO, I can't edit it. I'm the admin of the site. Where do I start? Item details doesn't seem to be doing much as as the admin I have full AGO permish. Or so I thought. Would love a few steps to try out.

Thanks in advance.

HI Joanna,

Have you published a map service or a feature service? To edit your data, you will need to publish a feature service to ArcGIS Server. Once the editable feature service is published, add it to a web map (open in map viewer) and you will be see an edit button.

If you are looking to make attribute edits, you can try registering your service as an item, and then edit the data through the data tab in ArcGIS Online.

Can you share the service url that you are using?
