Hi all,

Is it possible to hide fields in a joined hosted feature layer view?

I have joined two layers to produce a view but need to hide confidential fields from users. At the moment all fields are carried through from the two joined datasets. Searching online I can find various approaches to hide fields but none seem to work on a joined view. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Thanks a lot.

@LaurenBallantyne  - Has there been any update to this functionality request? I am in need of this feature to hide confidential fields from the public.

Hi all, I've communicated to the team that this functionality is in demand. It is on the development list for 2026, but a specific update has not been selected.

We appreciate your communication on the importance of this feature to your workflows.

You can do this using the Admin API, you first need to use the Delete Definition and then use Add Definition and provide the JSON with the select fields you want to expose in the Joined View

Hi @abdhassa24 I'll definitely try this out, thank you! Is the joined view layer still dynamic if we do this?

Can you detail the steps you used? I tried a few variations and wasn't successful.

Adding my voice to say that this feature is very sorely needed.

Wouldn't this be a major reason for creating a joined layer in the first place? Would really like to know when this will be added.
