Exporting to shapefile

Is there a way to export the layer created in Arcgis online to a shapefile? I cannot seem to open the map I created in ArcGis 10. Thanks.

No, there is no export ability. Full support for web maps in ArcGIS Desktop is coming at version 10.1.
