Encryption of data at rest?

Does the ArcGIS service offer the option to encrypt confidential data when it is at rest (i.e. stored on disk or SAN)?
If so, what encryption standard is used?

I'm a little unclear on what you are asking. Are you asking about the security of ArcGIS Server services through their REST endpoint? Or are you asking about how secure your data is that gets uploaded to ArcGIS Online? If so, what kind of data are you uploading and how do you plan to use it?
