I am currently in the ArcGIS Online 30-day trial.  Is it possible to search a shapefile I've uploaded?  I have a parcel layer and want users to be able to search by owner name or parcel ID number.

Well, you can do it by setting up a query from ArcGIS Explorer Online. Explorer Online is another application that runs in a web browser that displays web maps. However, queries are not currently supported in the ArcGIS.com map viewer. Alternatively, you could write your own custom application that accesses your web map.

Thanks,

Has there been any development on this? We are beginning to test AGOL and this is a must have feature for us (primarily want to use it with added services instead of shape files). IMO, this seems like a must have when building a map that may have a large number of features in a dataset. Clicking on popups or browsing a table is not an efficient way to seek out data.

There is nothing out of the box. You'd have to write your own app to do this.

Thanks,
